The Voluntaria Vision

We are a community of voluntaryists who embrace non-political and non-violent strategies to achieve a free society. At our core, we abide by the Non-Aggression Principle and Natural Law, fostering an environment of freedom and peace.

  • We recognize the human need for connection and how important, powerful and pleasurable it is when it all works right!  We feel that by living in community and valuing love, connection, fun, and the practical/economic advantages of community living we can live happy, fulfilling and fun lives.

  • Our commitment extends to personal growth, encompassing the development of our minds, bodies and spiritual connection.

  • We believe leading an examined life, continuously pursuing the evolution of our minds, bodies and spirits. We see each individual's spiritual journey is as unique as they are and we respect and encourage each member's growth.

  • Our community values natural health remedies, nutrition, and sustainable food sources, emphasizing self-reliance and the well-being of our members.

  • Openness, honest communication, balance, harmony, critical thinking, logic and reason are fundamental to our community's functioning and everyone's personal fulfillment.

  • We embrace various modalities, including Radical Honesty, Byron Katie's work and Non-Violent Communication and utilize mediation to resolve conflicts peacefully and honorably.

  • Our philosophy centers on the individual, extending outward to the community as a whole. We firmly reject the notion of valuing the collective over the individual (that is communism).  We understand that true community living is voluntary and driven by personal connection.  We choose to live in community because we have realized you just can't do it alone.  There is just too much to do and too much to know and even if you could do it all by yourself it wouldn't be fun. We also value the economies that come with being part of a community.

  • Recognizing the inherent human need for community and the desire to contribute while benefiting oneself, we strive for genuine win-win scenarios.

  • We consider all these elements essential to achieving a balanced, enjoyable, productive and fulfilling life.
